How To Fishing BlogsPodcast

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

As we head into the offseason it’s a great time to get your tackle ready for next season! Captain Mike Bady has a series of hacks for all of us tackle freaks. This episode is packed with great information on how to make sure your tackle doesn’t fail. Let’s face it a rod and reel are not cheap and taking good care, and maintenance are very important.

Capt. Mike talks about how to clean up your rods and reels and mentions a lot of instances that can occur while fighting a fish with poorly maintained tackle. You can’t simply rinse each time you use it and think it’s not going to break down. And we all know it’s going to happen with that fish of a lifetime!

This is a great podcast that will have you busy throughout the winter months working on your tackle.

Happy Holidays All!

I may have been guilty with using too light of leader on my last trip with Capt Mike. Then again it was my first time jigging for Tog. Lesson learned real quick! 🤷

Thanks very much for the compliments. There are guys on this board who are far more expert than I when it comes to tackle repair and customization. However, I know my own limitations (didn't Clint Eastwood say something to that effect?) and when the job becomes too complex, I seek out the help of a professional.
However, I am very diligent about my routine, and it usually pays big dividends. It is very rare that I have a tackle failure during the course of an entire season and believe me when I say my stuff, both personal and customer loaned rigs, get pushed to the max.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! Wishing everyone a healthy and very "fishy" 2022.
