Capt. Phill reports a good trip through the tough conditions. We had a strong ebb tide today with good action but plenty of shorts. We fished around a bit to find the good spots, but the weather had us and the fish a little scattered. Even though we had rough conditions we managed to have some very nice keepers. The first place pool winner was Jordan Mazzara from Bellport, NY with a 3.75 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was Micheal Nelson from Queens, NY with a 3.5 lb Fluke. (the two pool winners below)
Here are a few pictures of today’s trip. Full report to follow…..Tomorrow’s trip is CANCELLED due to the inclement weather. We will resume daily sailing on Monday May 6th at 4am!
Fri May 3Spring Jumbo Porgies are here!Capt Dave reports that it was good to get back out there! We had a typical early season light bite, but we are looking forward to it picking up. We had a small group today and had a handful of Porgies. We will be back at it tomorrow at 4am and there is still some space on the boat. Unfortunately, we are canceling the trip for Sunday due to the inclement weather expected. We will be back to sailing daily on Monday.
Capt Steven Sr reports a very weird day on the Viking Starship. We had a handful of keeper Cod along with some shorts and a few Bergalls. It was a tough bite maybe because of the east wind, strong tide or "Super Blood Moon"! It looked like there was a lot of life, but it was disappointing! Bruno Vulin won both pools with a 5lb and 7lb Cod.
