Looking For An Electronics Repair Guy

I would call Jeff’s Marine Electronics. I needed help a few times and I was looking for someone. As luck would have it, Captain Jeff Roye was close to me. I called him up and set up and appointment. Captain Jeff did a great job. He installed my Garmin EchoMap as I requested. Then he hooked it...

Never thought I'd eat green crabs until......

That means all the internal organs, liver, lungs, and other gooey things are in that blender mix! Guess it just adds to the flavor.

It’s been an unusual year so far. (for me)

The weather, especially on the weekends, has not been great. A lot of wind has kept me from fishing on my boat. I have caught over 40 fluke. But zero keepers. A friend had similar experience on the south shore I have not caught Mackerel in the Long Island Sound in many years. This year, maybe...

    Sunscreen

I am the same age and I use a UV shirt. I purchased two, one loose, one tight. The loose one feels hot in the sun. The tight one, believe it or not, feels cooler. I think it evaporates sweat better. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004I44IS4?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1&psc=1 I would still...

    Boat Insurance

I wnet through Shore Line Insurance. The father and son are big fisherman. I agree with Chinacat. My boat has an agreed on value. The other good thing about Progressive is they include towing insurance . That saves me the Sea Tow fee.

Thanks. I was thinking salt water. Maybe its me, but after rain and all the road runoff I thought it might throw off the bite. Thanks for the info.

    Rain

Is the bite diminished after rain? Does all the run off matter to the fish?

Has anyone tried John Skinner program

Keeping a fishing log is important to me. I say this: FishersLog Home - Fishing Log Software for the Serious Angler and wondered if anyone tried it.

    I know I'm beating a dead horse

As a professional, you probably would not take out your cell phone and call the DEC to report them. They do come if called. One or two boats getting boarded and fined would end that quickly as the word spread.

    Anyone catching fluke?

What was your short to keeper ratio? How many feet of water were you fishing in. Which tide was best?

    I know I'm beating a dead horse

If the Conn boats take BSB in our waters.....Aren't they subject to NY regulations? Do they ever get boarded while in NY waters? If they were then it stop pretty quickly.

Their regs must have changed. NJ has 3 fish at 18 inches NY has 3 fish at 19 inches. They would have been better staying in Jersey

    I know I'm beating a dead horse

But how does this make sense? Black Sea Bass New Jersey Regulations: 10 fish at 12.5 inches May 17 – June 19 1 fish at 12.5 inches July 1 – Aug 31 10 fish at 12.5 inches Oct 1 – Oct 31 15 fish at 12.5 inches Nov 1 – Dec 31...
