    Boat Show at Javits-reviews

Am I wrong to assume COVID sent boat sales through the roof? You had Isolation on you own spot on the water. Maybe the amount of people looking to upgrade is there.

    Annual Ward Melville Fishing Expo

Wow, I think the seminars are great and wouldn't miss them. I guess I'm still learning. Actually I hate it when theres two seminars I like to see and they conflict. I have seen John Skinner a number of times, but always find something new in his seminars. Capt. Doug Tobak of Corazon...

Do Blackfish Spawn in the spring?

Are these the same in younger fish? I am asking as I am not sure of the wisdom of a spring blackfish season if that is when they spawn. But if you safely cull males I guess it makes more sense. I wonder what % of fisherman worry about this.

Interesting. So why show multi-million-dollar boats? Boat in the 17 foot to under 30 foot might sell better up here.

Do Blackfish Spawn in the spring?

Could you elaborate? I am glad it is easy. I would let the females go. That is the reason I started this thread. If female spawn around Long Island in the spring, wouldn’t it make sense to close the season during spawning?

Do Blackfish Spawn in the spring?

Do Blackfish spawn in the spring? Is there a way to tell if you caught a female with eggs? Seems counter productive to remove spawning females.

Fishing & The Price of Gas

Interesting. At the start of this season, I also would also have said “no way”. But I did find myself less likely to explore. For example, if I started in Old Field and wasn’t getting a bite, I would have thought nothing of heading to spots in Rocky Point. This year, I would go. But cut back on...

    Your Biggest Nightmare

To drive a car you have to take a written test and drivers test. To fly a plane, you need to take a written test and drivers test and a medical exam. A boat, you just need money.

    Anyone know what these are?

Cute, but not setting my backyard up in flames. ;) Actually, I was doing some reading and the wasps are predatory for insects and never bite or sting humans. Maybe a good thing?

    Anyone know what these are?

I found them in my back and front yard. There is a lot of them. I have mostly oaks and a few maple trees. But the oaks make acorns and the maple trees the little propeller seeds. Someone told me they were hornet eggs. But there are hundreds of them and if you cut them open they a have a...

I was walking the dog in Port Jefferson. A lot of bait swimming in the water. Some bigger bunker swimming around being harassed by I assume bluefish and maybe stripers too. But there was a number of these little fish. What are they? Peanut Bunker?
