    Fluke on Jerkbaits

It should be even better from a boat/kayak - definitely stay in deep and cast shallow, or paralleling/45 degreeing a break/dropoff, or on flats...that way your jerkbaits' diving angle matches the slope of the bottom and you should stay in the strike zone a lot longer than working it from shore...

    Fluke on Jerkbaits

Thanks George! Hope all is well...I think the clear waters of Smithtown Bay will be perfect! Just uploaded p2 - needed a slightly deeper diver that day. If you're only going to pick up a couple jerkbaits to try, the Jackall Rerange 110 and Rerange 110 MR are the ones to get.

    Fluke on Jerkbaits

Hi Lep! The 2 jerkbaits I used in this video were the Jackall Rerange 110 and the Duo Realis 120SP - both of them run about 5-6ft on 10 - 12lb fluoro, the 120SP maybe a hair deeper. At the end of my cast we're in about 13.5ft at high tide, and that first 6lber ate the 120SP near the end of my...

    Fluke on Jerkbaits

I've been playing around with this off and on for a few seasons, things finally came together as my freshwater jerkbait experience (and collection!) grew and I started to understand what depth control is all about fishing a suspending diver from shore. Here's the first video with over 10...

    Daiwa Certate Spinning Reel Info

The Certate LT is bar none the smoothest, most precise feeling spinner I've ever used. I'll take it over the Stella any day! My cousin is throwing his 4k on a Dialuna AGS for surf fluke...I'm considering a 2500 for freshwater.

    Knots to bucktails

That's pretty shallow water right? I would take the teaser off, go as light as you can on a single jig, and cast up current. Way fewer weeds on the line that way, at least in my experience. Rapala knot or Kreh's Loop are what I prefer. I made a little video on sizing the knot for optimal jig...

Striped Bass Fishermen, Where's The Outrage on the Proposed Conservation Equivalencies???

Absolutely not! And while we're at it, place striped bass under federal jurisdiction --- like bluefish --- and they might stand a fighting chance to recover. NJ managed not only to squeeze out 3" off the slot but also expand that stupid bonus tag into the Spring season...my state is represented...

    Fluke Jigs- "Hook Refinements?"

Feel the bite, reel down your slack, set the hook. Anything you're not catching ain't worth catching, imho.
