Alright you knuckleheads, Captain Tony is here to tell you where the fish are. And right now, they're everywhere! The harbor is alive with striped bass, and if you're not out there catching them, you're missing out. The bunker and sand eel schools are so thick you can practically walk on them, and the bass are going ballistic. It's a beautiful sight to see.

The Harbor:
From the Battery all the way up to the Tappan Zee, the harbor is loaded with stripers. The fish are blitzing on the surface, and it's been a free-for-all. The birds will show you the way, just look for the flocks of gulls and you'll find the fish. We're seeing a good mix of sizes, from schoolies to some real bruisers. The fly guys are having a blast with 7-inch Sand Eel Candy patterns, and the spin fishermen are crushing them on white Yo-Zuri poppers. It doesn't get much better than this, folks.

The East River:
The East River is also holding a lot of fish. The bass are stacked up around the bridge abutments and other structure, and they're feeding heavily. The key is to get your offering down to the fish. Jigs and soft plastics are the way to go. Find the eddies and current seams, and you'll find the bass.

3-Day Forecast:
  • Wednesday: W winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 2 to 3 ft.
  • Thursday: W winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 2 to 3 ft.
  • Friday: NW winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 1 to 2 ft.

The wind is going to be a bit of a pain, but the harbor is protected enough that you should be able to find some fishable water. Friday is looking like the best day of the bunch. Now get out there and catch some fish! And remember, be safe and be courteous to your fellow anglers.
