I I I I
Broke the inlet @5pm on Friday. Nice south breeze. Trolled around the platform for about two hours for the occasional bite which were blues. Chopped the tails off the mojos. The sun started getting low so we switched it up and dunked chunks in 60 ft of water. As soon as the sun set, the dinner bell was rung! Started with a pair of dogs, but the bass were there. The madness started with a 34 incher, followed by a 29. Reset the rods and quickly tight to an ornery 33, and a 32 right after. Between rebaiting and bleeding out fish, I never got to turn a handle. We were limited out, and I knew that I had a lot of cleaning head of me so we agreed the two baits on the bottom were last call. Well they sure didn’t disappoint! I quickly came tight to a locomotive, while the other rod also went off. We were doubled up on a bigger class of fish. My pal got his 40 incher in the net while I was in a battle with a fish that took long runs peeling drag 5 different times. I would get 30 seconds of line back, and she would take it all away time and again. Got her near the boat and two more times she went back down. The best fight I ever had with a bass ended with the fish spent on the deck measuring a very fat 44 inches. A quick pic and I put her back in the water while my pal used the trolling motor get some current over her gills. It took 10
Mins of swimming the fish boat side for her to perk up and chomping on my hand followed by a head shake and that big tail taking over as she headed back down. Awesome evening with good friends.3EC3223C-3AB6-41D1-9ABD-5268D79C3D37.jpeg

Very nice Drew, wow! I'm installing a 40 gallon live well tomorrow, giving up on fluke in the sound, we are targeting bass and with the 40 gallon live well it will keep those bunker good and perky, glad the bass recovered.
Stay Safe and Healthy.
