Good to see it is done and hopefully folks will stay safe moving through these areas during the upcoming summer boating season.

On another note, have not been out in Moriches to see the bay dredging. I had a few areas that "hid" in plain sight which produced some impressive bay fluke. Wondering what "damage" was done, or if now accessible to deeper draft boats. Ah, just being selfish! 8-)

I probably made 500 trips thru Jones Inlet over the years and nervous every time. Even in a big 31 foot downeaster ! One time I ran aground in Jones Inlet about 250 feet West of the East Jetty about half way out , something I'll never forget . Unbelievable being stuck on a sandbar with a strong outgoing tide. The Great thing about a downeaster , you can just gun the engine and slide the boat off the sand bar. 31 BHM Downeasters have deep keels . I wish they'd make the main channel right next to East Jetty, why have the channel in the middle and why is the channel so narrow? Buoys in Jones last year were practically right next to each other ( Red/Green)
