Germany Allows Ukraine ‘Preparatory’ Training on Leopard Tanks​


(Bloomberg) -- Germany hasn’t made a decision to allow the sending of Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine, but will allow other countries to train Ukrainian soldiers on the vehicles.

"Germany won’t stand in the way if other states act like us, especially with regard to the possible preparatory training on these tanks,” new defense minister, Boris Pistorius, said Friday after a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group at the US airbase in Ramstein

The step to allow training doesn’t “pre-conclude” any possible decision on provision of the German-made tanks, Pistorius said. “But we are preparing ourselves for every possible case.”

At the same time, he stressed that a request by some countries to send Leopards to Ukraine wasn’t discussed at the Ramstein meeting.

Pistorius, sworn in as defense minister on Thursday after his precedessor resigned, also ordered a full evaluation of the number of Leopard tanks in the German army.

A decision about possibly sending main battle tanks to Ukraine could come within the next few days, he added.

the nurses strike was settled but they and teachers are underpaid

there is an infrastructure bill

We financed many wars of aggression including ww2 (before we were even in it)

Sen. Lindsey Graham urged the US and Germany to send tanks to the Ukrainian military during a visit to Kyiv on Friday, as Western defense officials meeting in Germany failed to agree on sending the weapons.

The South Carolina Republican visited Ukraine along with Democratic Sens. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island. The three lawmakers, who have been supportive of sending additional aide to Ukraine, met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"All three of us, one Republican and two Democrats, share the same goal — for Ukraine to drive the Russians out of Ukraine. To achieve that goal, the Ukrainian military needs tanks," Graham said during a press conference after the meeting and on Twitter. "I am tired of the shit show surrounding who is going to send tanks and when are they going to send them. Putin is trying to rewrite the map of Europe by force of arms. World order is at stake."

4 migrants arrested for stealing more than $12K in goods from Long Island Macy's

Four migrants who were bused to New York City are facing charges in connection with a snatch-and-grab robbery of a Long Island Macy's store.

The Nassau County Police Department says they got the call just after 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, of a larceny committed by four men who took off in a 4-door BMW.

Officers found the car driving eastbound on Ring Road. They say the driver was committing multiple traffic infractions.

They pulled over the car and say they found $12,489.00 worth of unpaid merchandise.

Wrallan Cabezas Meza, 19, of the Bronx, Jose Garcia Escobar, 30, Miguel Angel Rojas, 21, and Rafael Rojas, 27, of Manhattan were all arrested. The Post reported that The Rojas brothers were living at the Westin Hotel on W. 57th St., which is housing migrants.

All four were charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree.

Meza was issued multiple traffic citations.

All four were arraigned in Hempstead. Escobar and Rafael Rojas were released with no bail.

According to Newsday, Nassau County police said the four may have ties to a South American thievery ring.
 
I know a bunch of white dudes I grew up with that were born in Brookhaven hospital in patchogue and central suffolk hospital in riverhead who have been in and out of jail, rehab, their whole lives and are bad dudes
