That's All Folk's

Chris/Hippie Chic hauled her home this morning. Changed the motor oil and winterized the engine's cooling system, various pumps and bilge. I'll pressure wash the hull first nice day we get. My shrink wrapper is so busy he can't get to me before Xmas Eve - unreal.

Anyway, thanks to the NYAngler members that sailed with me this season! Some great trips and truthfully some not so great, but what mattered was the crew's camaraderie and effort, neither of which was ever lacking, and both contributed mightily to some really outstanding days on the water. Looking forward to seeing you guys back on my deck next season!

Thanks for all the invites and great trips. Time for us all to rest up now for a few months.
Don't forget to join me in May for our Giant Peconic Scup! A real blast on the super light tackle.

With the disappearance of an early season fluke bight in Shinnecock, my crew's attention is focused squarely on those Peconic Scup (y)
But you already knew that8-)8-)
Looking forward to seeing you out there

Merry Christmas everyone ?

Here’s some pics from our last Mega Pool Charter on The Ocean Eagle

1st Place took home $3600
2nd place split $1500

Lots of ball busting and partying like usual ?

Nice pix Kal and Frankie!

Chinco and crew from Squiggy's Marine Detailing and Shrink Wrapping came by this afternoon to button her up. For me, the 2022 season is now officially over. Time to get to work on the interior maintenance and repair work that I put off last Fall. Gotta begin getting her ready for the coming 2023 campaign!

Are the fluke biting yet? 8-)

Late night with friends and family last night. Last thing I wanted to hear was wind and rain early this morning after getting very little sleep. Pushed though it and met my brother in law at the ramp and we both said “what are we nuts?” Well it’s tog season so move it. We had constant action and managed a limit of tog with the smallest kept being 17 inches. All solid and feisty. Set up in the dark and done by 10.

Very nice!!

Went out of Mattituck yesterday on board the Celtic Grace. Steamed up to CT and anchored up on a piece. Tide was running and shame on me for not checking moon phases. 14oz sometimes 16 just to hold bottom. Clams and green crabs for whatever you wanted to target. Me, I stuck with crabs and trying for Tog. Guys using clams had all the Porgies you'd want, plus some very nice BSB were in the mix. Had two shorts off the bat then finally a keeper. Once the tide slowed down, I was able to switch over to spinning setup and hold with a 2oz jig no problem. I ended up with my biggest Tog at 6 1/2lbs. Rain started to pick up and so did the tide again. Tried for my limit and was unsuccessful with a couple more shorts. All in all a good first outing for Tog
