Whats going on in the World

I think they talked about it. Unconstitutional anyway. They should all leave.
That state is just shit. Did you see the panic over them getting rain last week? It’s either burning, mudslides, or earthquakes. One home has been rebuilt as of Thanksgiving from that fire last year.

Pay attention to what your children and grandchildren are watching.

Critics are review-bombing "Stranger Things'" penultimate episode, calling character Will Byers’ coming-out scene "cringey" and accusing the creators of prioritizing politics over storytelling.

In the show's most recent episode, "The Bridge," Will gathers all his friends and family for a tearful confession, telling them that he's just like his friends in almost every way – except, he says, "I don't like girls." Fans noted that the timing of his monologue seemed odd and forced, as the cast was in the middle of trying to defeat Vecna, the series' villain.

"Woke ruins everything," one user wrote on X, blasting the development as "LGBTQ+ nonsense."

President Trump has been in office for 11 months, redefining the role of the presidency. Those who voted for him wanted a change-maker, a disrupter, someone who could come to Washington and clean out the swamp. In his second nonconsecutive term, Mr. Trump has done just that. Here are his top 10 achievements:

1. Tariffs: In April, “Liberation Day” was more like libation day on Wall Street. Traders, economists and pundits alike all predicted a recession with Mr. Trump’s implementation of worldwide tariffs. Instead of doom and gloom, however, Mr. Trump was able to use the economic threat to resolve wars around the globe (India, Pakistan) and collect more than $200 billion in new tariff revenue by the end of 2025. Even The Wall Street Journal wrote last week that “an economic collapse hasn’t materialized” and begrudgingly acknowledged that “the numbers so far show the U.S. economy has held up.”

2. Immigration: On the campaign trail, Mr. Trump promised to close the southern border on Day 1, and he pretty much did. The Trump administration has delivered seven straight months of zero releases at the border. Nationwide crossings remain 92% lower than the peak under the Biden administration. Mr. Trump was correct: No new legislation was needed, just a new president willing to enforce the immigration laws already on the books.

3. Gender realignment: On his first day in office, Mr. Trump ended transgender madness, recognizing that “women are biologically female, and men are biologically male.” His administration recognized two sexes: male and female. “These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.”

4. Ending diversity, equity and inclusion: Also on his first day in office, Mr. Trump signed executive orders to cut funding, dismantle DEI offices, halt equity-focused grants and remove DEI from federal hiring and promotion processes. The Trump administration has correctly emphasized merit and equal opportunity instead.

5. Returning public education to the states: In March, Mr. Trump signed an executive order to dismantle the Department of Education. His administration has shifted the Department of Education’s functions to other federal agencies. U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon embarked on a 50-state tour to empower local leaders in K-12 education with best practices customized to their localities and specific needs. She is working to put herself out of a job, to break up the federal education bureaucracy and ensure federal taxpayer spending is returned to the states.

6. Lowering prescription drug prices: As Republicans in Congress flounder on health care policy, Mr. Trump has taken the lead in the White House to reduce the cost of drugs for American consumers. He has struck agreements with major pharmaceutical companies to provide drug costs in line with the lowest prices paid by other developed nations, known as the most-favored-nation price. The agreements will give every state Medicaid program in the country access to MFN drug prices, resulting in billions of dollars in savings and allowing American consumers to buy lifesaving drugs at a deep discount off the list price through TrumpRx.

7. Deregulation: Mr. Trump signed an executive order requiring federal agencies to identify at least 10 existing regulations for repeal for every new regulation they propose to implement. This goes beyond the “two-for-one” order of his first term, requiring the total incremental cost of all new rules in a fiscal year to be “significantly less than zero.” At the Environmental Protection Agency, Administrator Lee Zeldin has targeted regulations, such as the 2009 Endangerment Finding for greenhouse gases, reconsidered emissions standards for oil and gas and repealed stricter coal plant rules in an effort to cut costs, boost energy and increase affordability for consumers.

8. Drill, baby, drill: Mr. Trump’s Energy Department has ushered in an unprecedented era of energy dominance, resulting in record energy production and more affordable prices. Gas prices are at a four-year low, averaging about $2.90 per gallon, resulting in more than $500 million in savings for the American people this Christmas. The U.S. leads the world in oil and natural gas production, producing more oil than Saudi Arabia and Russia combined at 24.2 million barrels per day. The U.S. now makes as much natural gas as Russia, Iran and China combined, at 108 billion cubic feet per day.

9. Passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act: Mr. Trump made his 2017 tax cuts permanent while securing enhanced child care subsidies, eliminating the tax on tips and exempting overtime and Social Security from taxation for the American public. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act includes Trump Accounts, a $1,000 investment in children born in the U.S. from the Treasury to get a head start on the American dream.

10. President of peace: Although a deal to end the Russia-Ukraine war has remained elusive, Mr. Trump has ended eight wars in just eight months in office. Through his use of U.S. economic pressure and military might, he has facilitated a peaceful resolution between warring nations, including in the Middle East.

  • Presidential Commission to Make America Healthy Again

On February 14, President Trump signed Executive Order 14212 establishing the President’s Make American Healthy Again Commission which aims to end the childhood chronic disease epidemic.

On May 22, the MAHA Commission released its groundbreaking assessment identifying the key drivers behind the childhood chronic disease crisis. The Make Our Children Healthy Again Assessment identifies factors including:
    • Poor diet
    • Accumulation of environmental toxins
    • Insufficient physical activity
    • Chronic stress
    • Overmedicalization
On August 12, The MAHA Commission will submit a Make our Children Healthy Again Strategy to the President based on this assessment.
  • Phasing Out Petroleum-based Dyes from our Food

On April 22, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced during a press event that it is working to:
    • Establish a national standard and timeline for the food industry to phase out petroleum-based food dyes to natural alternatives.
    • Remove authorization for two synthetic food colorings—Citrus Red No. 2 and Orange B—within the coming months.
    • Eliminate the six remaining synthetic dyes from the food supply by the end of next year by working with industry: FD&C Green No. 3, FD&C Red No. 40, FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Yellow No. 6, FD&C Blue No. 1, and FD&C Blue No. 2.
    • Request companies remove FD&C Red No. 3 sooner than the 2027-2028 deadline.
    • Authorize four new natural color additives in the coming weeks. Fast track the review and approval of others.
    • Partner with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to research how food additives impact children’s health and development.
On May 9, FDA approved three food colors from natural sources. These colors—galdieria extract blue, butterfly pea flower extract, and calcium phosphate—will expand the palette of naturally sourced colors for manufacturers to safely use in food.
  • Autism Epidemic Action

On April 15, Secretary Kennedy held a press conference on the latest CDC data showing an alarming increase of autism.

According to the data, autism prevalence in the U.S. has increased from 1 in 36 children to 1 in 31. Better diagnostics alone do not account for this sharp increase.

Secretary Kennedy is taking action to treat autism as the public health emergency it is. He is leading the charge to uncover the environmental causes behind the epidemic and bring transparency, science, and urgency to a crisis that has been ignored for far too long.

On May 7, NIH and CMS announced they are partnering to advance understanding of autism through secure access to select Medicare and Medicaid data. NIH will build a new data platform that enables advanced research across insurance claims data, medical records, and consumer wearables.

The first project will study autism to better understand its causes, treatment results, and the impact on families.

This research will help guide future work on chronic diseases, while keeping people’s health information safe and private in full compliance with privacy and security laws.
  • Overhauling FDA’s “Generally Recognized as Safe” Designation

On March 10, Secretary Kennedy directed the FDA to change the rules allowing food companies to say that new ingredients are “generally recognized as safe,” or GRAS. Secretary Kennedy explained how we’re applying this designation to far too many ingredients. It was originally meant to allow companies to use common ingredients like salt and baking powder without safety-testing them first.

Secretary Kennedy also directed FDA and NIH to improve how they evaluate GRAS ingredients so we can identify which ones are making Americans sick and help American consumers and regulators make informed decisions.
  • Updating the 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines

USDA Secretary Rollins and HHS Secretary Kennedy are collaborating to update the 2025 - 2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Goals for the 10th Edition of the Guidelines include:
    • Easy to read: Make it concise and user-friendly so everyone can read it.
    • Available quickly: Aiming to release the new edition ahead of the December 2025 deadline.
    • MAHA-focused: Will be a nationally recognized vehicle to promote MAHA priorities to improve nutrition for all Americans and reduce the burden of chronic disease. The 10th Edition milestone provides an opportunity for HHS to support healthy eating and Make America Healthy Again.
  • Launched Operation Stork Speed to Make Infant Formula Healthy Again

On March 18, Secretary Kennedy hosted a roundtable with CEOs from the top infant formula manufacturers and announced Operation Stork Speed to investigate options for safe, reliable, and nutritious infant formula for American families

On May 13, the FDA announced its first full review of infant formula nutrition standards since 1998. The effort includes:
    • Asking for public input on approaches to updating current nutrient requirements based on the latest science.
    • Increasing testing for heavy metals and other contaminants in infant formula and other food children consume.
    • Encouraging companies to work with the FDA to increase transparency and improve labeling for formula.
  • MAHA Tour and State Visits

March 28: Secretary Kennedy joined West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey for a press conference to celebrate:
    • The signing of a MAHA Bill banning 7 types of harmful food dyes from school lunches and any food products sold in West Virginia.
    • A plan to request a waiver to remove soda from the taxpayer-subsidized food stamp program.
April 7: HHS Secretary Kennedy held a press conference with elected officials and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin to celebrate Utah's groundbreaking MAHA legislation. These MAHA bills included:
    • The nation's first ban on adding fluoride to public drinking water
    • Ban on certain dyes and chemical additives in public school meals
    • Restriction on using SNAP benefits to purchase soda
Later, Administrator Zeldin announced that the EPA will review the latest scientific research on the health risks associated with fluoridated water.

April 8: Secretary Kennedy joined Arizona state lawmakers at a packed press conference to celebrate two new MAHA bills passed by the senate and house. These include:
    • The Arizona Healthy Schools Act, signed into law by Governor Hobbs, banning public schools from serving ultra-processed foods with harmful additives such as artificial dyes.
    • Ban on Soda Purchases with SNAP funds, vetoed by Governor Hobbs, directs the state to seek a waiver from the USDA to prohibit this.
April 15: Secretary Kennedy joined Indiana Governor Mike Braun for a press conference to celebrate the 9 MAHA Executive Orders he passed. These orders include:
    • Ban on using SNAP benefits for candy, soft drinks and other junk food.
    • Ban on harmful food dyes.
    • Other initiatives to encourage the role of nutrition, ingredient transparency, and fitness in keeping children healthy.
  • DOGE Actions Already Saving More than $67 Billion

In partnership with DOGE, HHS is already:
    • Terminating, de-scoping or non-renewing over 5,000 contracts resulting in $17.1B of savings
    • Cancelling $14.1B in COVID-related grants
    • Saving $10.5B by requiring individuals to produce proof of income to qualify for federal subsidies
    • Saving $6.8B by capping NIH grant indirect costs at 15%
DOGE is working with HHS Divisions on the largest HHS restructuring in 50 years, aiming to:
    • Eliminate redundant offices
    • Streamline required programs
    • Deliver Gold Standard Scientific Research
Additionally, DOGE and CMS are working on a number of program integrity rules, process improvements, and audit tools that have the potential to save over $40 billion per year.
  • Improving Educational Freedom and Opportunities for Families

On April 29, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) announced they are urging states to make it easier for families to choose the childcare, after-school, and educational programs that work best for them – including private and faith-based options.

ACF programs are spearheading efforts to expand the use of vouchers, block grants, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds.

These actions support President Trump’s Executive Order 14191, aiming to expand educational freedom, improve student achievement and strengthen our nation’s competitiveness.
  • Combatting Antisemitism

HHS is working to protect Jewish students from discrimination and harassment on campus. We are doing this by:
    • Taking a leadership role in the Joint Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism, along with the Departments of Education and Justice, and the General Services Administration.
    • Leading reviews that resulted in the freeze or cancellation of billions in federal funding to institutions like Harvard and Columbia for failing to protect Jewish students from clear antisemitism.
    • Driving decisive federal action to hold universities accountable for protecting Jewish students.
On May 23, the HHS Office of Civil Rights released a report concluding that Columbia University violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by responding with deliberate indifference to student-on-student harassment of Jewish students from October 7, 2023, through now.
  • Removing DEI

HHS is restoring common sense to federal policy by eliminating spending on grants and programs related to “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) efforts. So far, we have:
    • Saved more than $350 million by ending grant funding for more than 500 DEI-related research projects.
    • Ended the use of pronouns and other DEI-related terminology in federal statements, policies, regulations, forms, and other communications.
  • Gender Ideology

HHS is enforcing President Trump’s Executive Order 14168, Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government, by:
    • Recognizing only two sexes: male and female.
    • Applying that standard to civil rights enforcement, healthcare policy, and sports eligibility.
    • Withdrawing prior guidance promoting gender ideology.
  • Protecting Women in Sports

HHS supports the broad effort to ensure fairness for women athletes and uphold sex-based protections in education.

HHS is investigating the Maine Department of Education for allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports, which may violate federal civil rights law and President Trump’s Executive Order 14201, Keeping Men out of Women’s Sports.
  • Radical Transparency

Secretary Kennedy is ushering in a new era of radical transparency in our health agencies. We have launched a Radical Transparency web page to empower the public with information on:
    • Potential conflicts of interest of members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP)
    • Chemical Contaminants Transparency Tool, a searchable FDA database that lists contaminant levels in foods to help protect public health.
    • Terminated HHS contracts
On May 15, the FDA announced it is launching a more transparent process for reviewing food chemicals currently sold, especially those that are most relevant for families and consumers. Over the next few months, the FDA will:
    • Update how it decides which chemicals to prioritize reviews for, based on the best available science. FDA will share a draft of its plan with the public for feedback.
    • Create a step-by-step process for reviewing chemicals already on the market, shaped by input from stakeholders.
    • Provide an updated list of chemicals under review and expedite the review process overall. The FDA website will provide updates to promote greater transparency.
  • Minimizing Animal Testing

    Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
FDA took a major step for public health by moving away from animal testing in drug development and using more effective, human-based methods like:
    • AI models to predict if a drug is potentially harmful
    • Lab testing with human cells and human-like organ models
The new approach is designed to improve drug safety, speed up the evaluation process, while reducing experiments on animals, lowering costs, and ultimately, drug prices.

    National Institute of Health (NIH)
NIH is launching a new initiative to expand human-based research methods and use fewer animals.

To lead this work, NIH intends to establish the Office of Research Innovation, Validation, and Application (ORIVA). ORIVA will create and test non-animal research methods and serve as a hub for interagency coordination to ensure these methods protect public health and meet regulations.
  • Modernizing the Peer Review Process at NIH

On March 6, NIH announced a plan to centralize peer review under the agency’s Center for Scientific Review. The new approach will:
    • Separate the peer review and funding roles across NIH
    • Reduce potential for bias
    • Save more than $65 million a year
    • Eliminate duplicate efforts within NIH
    • Improve the quality and integrity of reviews
NIH’s Center for Scientific Review (CSR) currently oversees most NIH grant applications. This proposed consolidation eliminates the additional study sections based at NIH Institutes and Centers, so that CSR conducts all first-level review.
  • Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)

    Medicare
    On March 5
, CMS sent a letter to Medicare providers reminding them that they are obligated to protect American children from often irreversible chemical and surgical mutilation, including interventions that cause sterilization.

Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO)
    • On March 10, CCIIO released a proposed rule to protect people from being signed up for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace Health Insurance without their knowledge.
    • The 2025 Marketplace Integrity and Affordability Proposed Rule also aims to keep health insurance markets stable and affordable and make sure taxpayer dollars only support those who qualify for the ACA.
    • This rule is expected to save the government $215 billion over the next 10 years and provide potential cost savings for Marketplace enrollees.
    Medicaid/Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
    On April 10
, CMS sent a letter to states notifying them that it will no longer fund “health-related social needs” that are not appropriate Medicaid benefits.

On April 11, CMS reminded [PDF, 281 KB] state Medicaid agencies of their obligation to ensure safety and quality of care for enrollees, including children. CMS Director Dr. Mehmet Oz emphasized that Medicaid funds cannot be spent on gender re-assignment surgeries or hormone treatments for children. These procedures can cause permanent, irreversible harm, including sterilization.
  • Removing Conflicts of Interest at FDA

On April 17, Commissioner Makary announced a new policy to prevent conflicts of interest and restore public confidence in the FDA.

The FDA is limiting people who work for companies regulated by the FDA – like drug companies – from serving as official members on FDA advisory committees.

Instead, the FDA will prioritize and elevate the role of patients and caregivers.
  • Generation Gold Standard: Universal Vaccine Platform

On May 1, HHS and NIH launched Generation Gold Standard—a new vaccine project to better protect against viruses that could cause future pandemics.

NIH is developing universal vaccines for influenza viruses and coronaviruses (including COVID-19), aiming to protect against many strains at once. This approach may also work for viruses like RSV and parainfluenza in the future.
  • Protecting Children from Drastic and Permanent Medical Procedures

On May 1, the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health and the Office of Population Affairs released a review of the latest evidence and best medical practices for supporting the health of children and teens with gender dysphoria.

Citing a growing body of evidence, the review highlights the serious and often irreversible risks to medical treatments like puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries—while finding very weak evidence of benefit.

The review fills a gap in medical literature by highlighting the overlooked ethical aspects of these treatments, which HHS believes should be central to the debate.
  • Making Drug Prices Fair for Americans

On May 12, President Trump signed “Delivering Most Favored-Nation Prescription Drug Pricing to American Patients,” an EO to protect Americans from paying much more for prescription drugs than people in other developed countries.

Right now, drug companies charge the United States much higher prices for the same drugs than they charge other countries. That is why Americans provide about 75% of global pharmaceutical profits compared to the rest of the world.

President Trump is ending this by taking steps to ensure that Americans get “most-favored-nation" pricing and pay no more than other countries for prescription drugs. This will stop unfair price markups and make medicine more affordable.

On May 20, HHS announced that it is taking immediate action to implement Executive Order 14297. HHS expects drug manufacturers to commit to aligning US pricing for all brand products across all markets that do not currently have generic or biosimilar competition with the lowest price they charge to similar countries. This will drastically lower drug prices for Americans.
  • Minimizing the Risks of Fluoride

On May 13, the FDA announced it will be taking prescription fluoride drug products for children off the market. The FDA never approved these products, which infants and toddlers swallow, unlike toothpaste or rinses. Research links ingesting fluoride to gut microbiome disruption, and suggests an association between fluoride and:
    • Thyroid issues
    • Weight gain
    • Possible reduced IQ
By October 31, the FDA will complete its safety review and HHS will release best practices for dental hygiene that do not alter gut health, like limiting sugar to prevent cavities.
  • US Withdrawal from the World Health Organization

On May 20, Secretary Kennedy articulated the Trump Administration’s decision to withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO), as part of Executive Order 14155, and shared his vision for the future of global health.
