Ruger 10/22 Clips

I sold my 10/22 just before the "un"SAFE Act, but recall buying some for a good price from both Sportsmans Guide and Natchez Shooting Supplies. I like to support our local gun shops but their prices except for Black Friday are just too high. SG will no longer ship ammo to NY but not sure about mags. And jeez Cany, they are magazines, not "clips!"

Thanks Ill look into those Im old school Always called them clips lol Why did you sell it?

I would have had my head handed to me in ROTC in the early 70s if I called an M16 mag a "clip!" Anyway, after "exhaustive" testing, lol, I found my Marlin 60 was more accurate than the Ruger 10/22, as are both of my Henry levers. Having been on high school and college rifle teams, for me it was all about accuracy. Besides, the restrictive laws Cuomo passed eliminated most of the "fun" accessories a law-abiding person can put on a semi-auto rifle with a detachable magazine.
I go through 200 rounds in an hour at Mitchel Field (admittedly mostly from pistols) so semi auto rifles make the habit even more expensive !

I havent shot my 10/22 yet I bought it without "A Magazine":) It came with a red dot adjustable site and a folding stock I would like to get too a range soon and shoot it.

For accuracy I will always go with my bolt action .22 Magnum many Woodchucks hated that gun at 50-100yds lol

Ahh. Just remember that you can only use 10 round mags in this wonderful state. I just had 3250 rounds of Federal .22LR delivered to my door by ammoboard.com. Shipping was free since its a case, and Federal has a rebate going on right now. TargetsportsUSA.com is the only other company that will ship to your door after Cuomo scared the others. They ship free if its a case as well. I hardly ever leave Long Island but if you do, Cabelas in Hamburg PA and Bass Pro Shops in Harrisburg will definitely have those mags.

Yeah 10 round mags lovely Guess Im gonna need a few lol M,y .22 round stock is about 3k right now Im good on that I will check out target sport thanks

Got my mags on Amazon. I have a great site for ammo that actually ships to NY. It’s targetsportsusa.com. They are always running a deal on 10/22 ammo.

Many still ship to NY, but except for those two above (ammoboard is affiliated with outdoorlimited.com) the others will only ship ammo to FFLs.

Cany,
Do not take my say so, but check into the folding stock angle. The SAFE Act seems to indicate that a folding or telescopic or thumbhole stock on a semi auto rifle (any caliber) with a detachable magazine is verboten. The state police may be more informative than local, and local gun shops will have as many opinions as they do employees. New York State government just wants us to live in fear and uncertainty.

Thanks Pequa

Ill probably never put it on

Glad it came unattached. It's just a gun part that way. I had two ARs, 2 M1 Carbines, and a 10/22 before SAFE. Examining it, I realized I could remove the pistol grip from one AR, the bayonet lug (I still find it ludicrous and almost hysterical that bayonet lugs make a rifle an assault weapon) from an M1 carbine and keep them without registering them for eventual confiscation. I legally sold off the other M1 carbine, the 10/22 and one of the ARs before SAFE was enacted.
The AR and the 10/22 have so many nifty conversions and modifications available but now mostly illegal in this state so off they went.
