Took my 8’ hedges down to 4’ today.

I would like to have a drink but dont think I could lift it.

Between lifting the the trimmer, chainsaw, loppers and hand trim i can barely type.

I always trim the hedges before the bloom if my last cut was not aggressive enough.

Every few years I bring them down a foot or two, this year I went crazy... i really whacked them.
Will make it easier for the next few years. Eventually they will need to go or just run wild.

Its a hobby for me, I enjoy it now but not sure I will in the future.

Why's that, so you can see your neighbors better???

For a long time, I could not see anything other than green around the perimeter of my back yard.
It became to hard to maintain and sad to see it go. In their prime they were perfectly trimmed at 12‘ - 14’ tall.

As for seeing neighbors... I see them everyday with or without the hedges since they are family and close friends.
