    rubber net

Oh. No, I use what was known on the old website as a "Lep rig" (thanks again Pete) with a dressed lead bucktail and a Gulp! and a dressed hook and Gulp! teaser 15" above it on a dropper loop. The leader they are on has a barrel swivel and that is clipped to a breakway "paper clip" tied to...

    rubber net

Pretty sure its full rubber. Hasn't gotten sticky yet. Of course in my case it is only exposed to the sun from about 7:30 AM to 11 or 11:30 AM at the latest. Unfortunately it has also only been dunked four times, lol. I just kayak fish in the morning.

    rubber net

even the 26" I caught two weeks ago fit (just !) but I really adhere to my "bare bones" mantra kayak fishing. (No bicycle pedals, no electronics except a cell phone, no unnecessary "stabilizers", no rudder, nothing but Gulp! or a livelined snapper for bait.) I may not catch much most days but...

    rubber net

not often enough ! But it is virtually snagproof at least. Wish the hoop was a little wider but 99% of the fluke I catch won't challenge it, lol.

Why John Skinner’s Frugal Fluke Choice was a Game-Changer

and as luck would have it, I reverse jinxed myself this morning. after two biteoffs on both buck and teaser, I put a pork rind trailer on the buck. Two fluke, one for dinner. Never had luck with pork rind before. Only lost a couple of Gulp! today to snappers, and sea bass.

Why John Skinner’s Frugal Fluke Choice was a Game-Changer

I did find my old jars of Uncle Josh pork rind and stuck some in the Plano Liqua Bait Locker I use for my Gulp! so next time when the tail gets bitten off I will just put on a rind and carry on. Never had much luck doing this but I am part Scot so...

Why John Skinner’s Frugal Fluke Choice was a Game-Changer

Had more shorts this morning than any morning all season. (Although thats not saying much, lol.) With so many sea bass, snappers and even blowfish biting the tails off my Gulp! I quickly switched over to plain plastics, not even name brand, and continued to catch shorts, etc. (These 'plain'...

ASMFC Striped Bass Draft Addendum III - Plain English Summary

change the law to allow, within reason, confiscation of equipment up to the "transportation used" to poach. Maybe not for a couple of bluefish but for twenty and thirty schoolies that we regularly see on the posts.

If you only net one fish...

I sold joe the tow boat. Did you know it was named because I was in the army reserve for over 20 years and not because i used the porta bote on weekends?
