Had no intention on fishing today, the misses had me running around taking care of stuff. After finishing my buddy Frank called me said what are you doing, I said just heading home meet me at my boat at 11.30. We headed down his canal in Lindenhurst and when we got in the bay, you couldn’t see the islands on the other side. Fog from cool ocean south breeze mixing with warm air. So we stayed in east west channel my shad rigs are to heavy for the deaths of the bay on top of a low tide. As we approach Amityville absolute blitz going on in the Flats. Fish busting water everywhere birds going crazy. We only have trolling rods and shad rigs no spinners 🤷‍♂️. So we make an attempt at getting into the State channel and it’s fogged in, turn around no sense in taking chances this early in. We head back to the bay side and I put one trolling rod in for the hell of it. Whack fish on after a few cranks fish gone. Set it again nothing, fog blows off and we head back to the channel now tide is just about finished going out. Made a few sweeps and nothing. We decided to troll our way to the cut and call and whack fish on felt like a good fish. In the boat first bass of the season a nice 28.5 inch fish couldn’t ask for a better start.

First fish of the season and on your new boat, as well...doesn't get much better than that, Vinnie!
Excellent job!!!
