the "What are you doing NOW" thread (part deux)

Had the same perception until my sons band played there back in May
Found out its actually low key, laid back, reasonably priced, and super friendly
Very lenient with bringing your own food and snacks and many affordable good bottles of wine to drink 👍👍👍
There’s plenty of other over priced rip off joints but Pindar is actually not one of them
Second that!
I was referring solely to their wines, as well as just about all the LI Vineyards. You'll never see any of their wines on the wine lists of better restaurants anywhere, but on LI. The wines aren't that great and their quality, or lack thereof, is nowhere near the prices they want.

Well Im gonna disagree sorta 😎
Yes the average bottle is a bit higher priced but there are plenty of LI wines to be had in the $20 range at the local liquor store rather the winery itself that are pretty good and I like supporting the local businesses
Ya know, in the fall locally caught bass, tog or scallops, with locally grown brussel sprouts, broccoli or cauliflower with a local bottle of wine is a Trifecta in my book 👍👍

In my last years on LI, I'd be fully in agreement on the last sentence, with the exception of the pour, with the cheapest LI running around $12 and they couldn't compare with $8 bottles from France or Italy; a starving graduate student couldn't afford to shop local. Heck, the $4+ I save could be used for a Bremiere (sic) Farm fruit pie for dessert!!

Let's put it this way, if LI vineyards' wine was so good, how come they're all trying to be bachelorette party destinations and clog up Sound Avenue traffic on the weekends?? Didn't see much of that in my overseas travels to Tuscany or Bordeaux. Bottom line is that their wines aren't good enough to be their sole business...
