Hurricanes require a surface sea water temp of somewhere around 80 or better to develop that far. Right now, the water temp around Islip is 76.5. We might very well get a good storm out of this. Hurricanes even if they go out to sea effect the waters. I heard long Island sound will have swells with this hurricane.

I could see watches issued from cape may to Atlantic city. Not sure if it will go north of that. There is a storm surge warning and a tropical storm warning for the outer banks. Tropical storm watch for Bermuda Virginia and Delaware
