safety bars or not - I ain't gettin' on anything that dangles you from a cable that high in the air..Been on some ski lifts back in the day without safety bars, not a big deal back then but now nooooooo. Thankfully we learn.
I was on this road about 25 years ago, coming in the opposite direction in the passenger seat.
It was not good.

I was on a similar road in Costa Rica a decade or three ago. Went with a group of other guys for a fishing gala. The airport was on the Pacific side & the fishing resort was on the Gulf - or maybe the other way around quite awhile ago & I really don't recall..
Only way to our destination was overland on roads like this. Occasionally a bus would come from the opposite direction & our van driver had to back up in reverse to a pullover area to let the bus pass.
There were many wrecks laying down in those valleys.
I can imagine..Plus we were pulling a brakeless trailer full of books down to New Mexico - the smell of burning brakes in the Pathfinder was a bit disconcerting.
