Whats going on in the World

I'm pretty sure I'll never set foot in the city again.
It was cool working down there during the Giuliani years.

I believe the very first red light camera in NYC was installed many, many years ago on Northern Blvd. at the intersection of Douglaston Pkwy. It’s still there today to get you heading westbound on 25A. Over the years I have been ticketed at that intersection several times. Just not thinking when driving. Now I often keep WAZE on to warn me of upcoming red light, and speed cameras, as well as “hidden” police, etc.

I always keep Waze on unless I'm doing a really local run where I know the roads well, it's saved me in Yonkers several times.

They can’t seem to get the retards to follow rules so they just keep adding more obstacles. You’ll find speed bumps in Rockaways. Always fun to watch the clueless non-thinking hit them.

Virginia state Senator Lillie Louise Lucas was indicted Thursday on five charges that include drug trafficking, money laundering, fraud and firearms charges after being accused of running a marijuana distribution enterprise, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Lucas is among seven indicted in the sprawling racketeering scheme, a group that includes her two daughters, Lisa Lucas-Burke and Theresa Lucas-Lamb, and her grandson Ryan Eichelberger, Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a Thursday press conference.

"Louise Lucas has served in a position of public trust in the Commonwealth of Virginia for over three decades," Blanche said in a DOJ statement.

Not surprising?

Throughout the 1980s and ’90s, more than 80 percent of teenagers reported having their licenses by the end of high school, according to data from Monitoring the Future, a national survey of young people conducted by researchers at the University of Michigan. Today, that figure has fallen to 57 percent.

When asked why they had not gotten their licenses earlier, however, Batey’s students mostly voiced a lack of enthusiasm. In interviews, some said that they were anxious about operating a vehicle that could kill them or others. Others argued that learning to drive was not that important because large chunks of their social lives took place online.

Changing times.

Avenger Jr. took forever to get his license. Passed the test on the first try but is still a very anxious driver and avoids it whenever he can. None of my peers can comprehend it. We couldn't wait to get our licenses.

At least he hasn't dismissed it with "I'll just Uber."
