Nope we're on the same page. I had two cat stoves and definitely more babysitting involved. 25o down here you guys must be in the teen. Happy Thanksgiving.
The stove has a heat shield in the back and the double walled pipe cuts the clearance. All to code no fooling around with any of my stoves. The stove (its a non cat) is quite efficient and qualifies for the federal tax credit.
Just a shadow behind the stove. The stove is 9" off the wall and the double wall pipe is 11". This is a Quadra Fire Discovery I and is the easiest starting stove I've ever had in 40 yrs of burning wood.
I've been thinking about breaking in my new stove (Quadra Fire Discovery 1) at the new house. Was told by my old neighbor the new owners of my Farmingdale home threw out my Hearthstone stove I couldn't believe it. It was a great stove that heated the whole house. Just wait till they add up...
45o this morning here on ESVA. If I had a woodstove I'd have started a fire. New stove gets installed 5/31/22 in the new house. Just in time for summer.?
Our Hearthstone stove never puffed backed either but we always enjoyed the aroma when we opened the door. Doesn't matter what wood is burning the smell always reminds me of Boy Scouts.
Heat pump. It's a very charming but old house (1850's) that is very drafty and with a wind like today just sucks the warmth right out. It has toughened us up for sure. Next week looks like real nice weather.
I heard it and felt it. Kinda like Farmingdale on Fridays and Sundays in the summer when the rich folk would be taking the choppers out to the Hampton's (we were on a flight path). I won't miss that noise for sure.
