    Gulp recharge

So all the Gulp juice that comes in new packages and containers has that brown tint to it. Why then is Gulp recharge juice totally clear? It does not seem to smell as nasty as the packages and containers either. regards Holty

How do you store your gulp?

LowGear, your container looks like a winner. I saw the thread on the Snapware containers a few years back and picked up two. They work well but I can't get my fat hand into them to pick a Gulp from the bottom. Also, It will be easier to drop the rigs into your container while motoring up for the...

    So Who's Still Smoking Tobbacco?

I learned to smoke on Parris Island back in 1970. Finally quit about ten years ago but the damage had been done. Most don't know smoking is the number one cause of bladder cancer. I am cancer free now but I am without my bladder and prostate. regards Holty

    Permit

So after many years of procrastinating my wife and I are going to file for pistol permits. Target practice and home security are our goals. We presently own a 410 shotgun and three 22 rifles so we are not new to guns ownership. We hear this process can take over 6 months to complete. Looking for...

GULP! Scent Dispersion vs Z-Man Test Video - Fresh Test Update

Interesting test. So are we to conclude packaged gulp holds it's scent longer than those that come in jars? regards Holty

16 Lb Tog Mid Sound ?

A buddy of mine knows the angler who caught it. I was shown a picture of this hog with the Huntington Lighthouse in the back ground. Huge fish. She was a bleeder or they would have set her free. regards Holty

    Smithtown Bay to Callahans

I am with boatguy. I feel the bottom of the sound is why we have lost the fluke, flounder, and lobster. These species all live on the bottom. NYC and western Nassau are allowed to use large amounts of chlorine to clean their sewer system. Plus, when heavy rains occur they just open the flood...

First trip of the year: The Saga continues...

George, I remember those days very well. Charlie and I would find ourselves drifting the same area many a time. As you said the better fish had an early showing every year. Maybe the lack of bluefish that we are seeing now is related to the same problem? Before Gulp came around my go-to bait was...

First trip of the year: The Saga continues...

Two trips to my early season haunts off the Morgan estate in Asharoken have yielded only large birds. Decent action on 14" to 16" fish at the entrance to Lloyd Hbr and the channel in Huntington Hbr near the first marinas. I understand the theory regarding water temps but why do they catch fluke...

You can bring fluke strips out the next day . Or can you?

So I will occasionally dead stick a rig with fluke, bluefish or robin belly. Am I correct in thinking that it is OK to fish the belly strip while on a bucktail with a J hook but not on a three-way rig with a plain baitholder hook? Must the three-way use a circle? regards Holty

They have to stock winter flounder to bring them back

Your idea may have some merit. Those late March-early April flounder trips are sorely missed. I would also like to see an open season to harvest commorants. regards Holty

    ><)))):> SIMPLE DAYS GONE BY GROWING UP,,WAS GREAT BACK THEN <:))))><

Nice! I am partial to the X46 model with the flip up hook on the end. Unfortunately, they are not made as good as they were years ago.

    Christmas wish list

I have only one wish for Santa this year. Bring back the Fluke fishing in the Lloyd Neck to Smithtown Bay area to what it was in the early to mid 2000's. I don't have much hope for this but if anyone can do it Santa can. Right? regards Holty
