    Each year regs are adjusted statewide based on Fed guidelines versus previous year. Unfortunately reductions do not take into account the historic disparity between states. NY continues to suffer from sins of past.

In Delaware, regulations are even more hospitable with an open season from May 15 through September 30 with a 15-fish bag limit and 13-inch minimum size, reopening again on October 10 and running through the end of the year...

    My buddy canceled after I got bait/ice and i started prepping his boat. So I fished from his slip, caught 7 shorts &1 K in 30 minutes, all on outgoing tide. As always its a spearing bite early in season

    Opening day - 4 guys, 18 shorts, 1 keeper, 5-15' water. OUTGOING water only, the incoming tide pushed temps down from 58* to 50* and bite shut down immedistely... leaving now, report to follow...

    The 2025 NY Fluke regs allow 4 keepers with 19" minimum size, but > 19.5" after 8/2 :-o The 2025 NJ Fluke regs allow 3 keepers at 18" all season. The difference in NY/NJ fluke bag limits began in 2019 when NJ was penalized 1 fluke when NJ went out of compliance with ASFMC guidelines.....
