It think I already cover the beaches and parks thing.
The bridges I speak of are all on public roads. The only private bridges I see are crossing a stream to a property and I'm sure those are on the property owner.
I'm not sure where you're deriving this private use thing. It's the f-ing...
Like the undead, these things are still skulking around, waiting for their zombie resurrection.

These things need to be plowed so they can't come back to picking people's pockets.
Because the inlets act as a restriction to the water coming in and going out they moderate the total tide swing. After the breach I saw significantly higher highs and lower low tides. It has gradually returned to normal, but it could be pretty problematic when it was going on.
And sorry...
I'm in 100% in agreement with you on this. New Yorkers pay enough taxes, there should be reciprocity.
Maybe do it a little more like Nassau does with the parks. Free for residents and a nominal fee for non. However, I'm not much of a fan of that either. I pay a lot of taxes in Nassau even...
Thank you.
We had much bigger swings in tide from the breach after Sandy. It's another hole in the bucket and I'd gladly take a little less clean water for the protection that would come from filling it in.
F that!
It really makes my teeth itch when people justify breaches in the beaches with "look how clean the water is!"
It ain't gonna be clean when it's in your living room. The barrier beaches are our hurricane protection. I'm also seeing a butt-ton of stupidity with FEMA funds and...
Is the ANYTHING these clueless ba$tards won't involve themselves in?

Chances are this is because there's some way that the no tax on tips rule can be circumvented to the govts benefit.
Doing the uber-healthy thing tonight. Grilled veg, COTC and Mrs Avenger's famous Seasoned Turkey Burgers with fresh home-grown parsley, chives and basil.
Mantises not included.
Seriously, she has some impressive recipes for ground turkey. Although she hates making them, 'cause ground...
There doesn't seem to be a gardening thread here, which is fine BTW, I'm just fooling around with this stuff on a small scale, and this isn't landscaping.
So to follow up in to the critter thread I've deemed the critter cages a success since the 'maters are ripening nicely and none of them...
I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, but the alignment of the pelvis with the neck looks WAY off where 'da hip bone's connected to da back bone.' And there's an awful lot of metal that would be hard to screw into an esophagus. Not to mention that the top of the pelvis is visible in the...
