Second day for Nantucket Fluking was a wet one but a good one. Limits for most and again more Sea Bass than I've ever seen on the shoals. My buddy got the big one today, 9 lbs. Mates hated it but the fish liked it. If they used nets instead of gaffs they would probably ban it! Correction, pool fish was 8.7 lbs- hartattack

Nantucket report, 8/10... good quality but quantity was lacking. Pool fish went 7.6 lbs and most Fluke were 23 or so inches, no shorts on boat. Several seabass up to my 23"er. Tomorrow's cod/Haddock trip is now Fluke day #2 because the Haddock have not shown up yet on Georges Bank. Check out...- hartattack

Who knows? When a Fluke throws your hook, is it due to a short bite or wrong leverage on their head shakes? The swing hook should be able cushion those head shakes, especially on those biguns....- hartattack

New Fluke Rig, i call it the Fluke Attack
I've been successfully using it as my teaser for several weeks now. Works well with Lep's B/S rig using sinker on bottom, rather than the jig. This way the snags over the ruff stuff are minimized. Bringing some with me next week to NanFlukeit, Massachusetts.- hartattack

No Conger Eels? Hate bringing those up from the deep. We've been getting many out of season Tog at The Farms now. You always get em there on clams but last week we caught Tog on the jig! I agree about Sandy Hook Reef, the nursery...- hartattack

NJ update: Fluke season opened on Monday but rain/muddy water prevented us from our usual opening day tradition. I've been Fluking from shore and doing well since mid-April (catch n release). If you follow that Creek towards Shea Stadium it runs into Fountain of the Planets, then the Par3 golfcourse, then into Flushing River. We would fish the Fountain and people would be amazed at the carp we caught there.... ahh, fond memories...- hartattack

NJ has voted on and approved option 2: May 2 - Sep 27 .... 2 slots between 17 and 17.99 and 1 over 18 Opinion: 2 fish to fit inside a 1" slot coupled with inevitable high grading for that single over 18 - could be recipe for trouble.... although the party boats will enjoy it...- hartattack
