    With the fluke season behind us, did you do better or worse than last year.

    Fluke fishing in the sound was very slow all season. Only had one keeper the first trip of the season. It got worse from that point. The Port Jeff Fleet did not bother fluke fishing. They started the season porgy fishing and never looked back. Hoping next year is better

    In General any course given by a power squadron, US Coast Guard Auxiliary or the NY State Course. I do not know of any list of approved courses. Basically if you have proof of a boating course it is OK

    The concern with the flares is they dripping of flares when ignited, The drips can cause a fire if not held over the side properly to drip into the water. The flares do work well. The user has to understand the risk when igniting one.
