The Onancock Chronicles the Eastern shore

Lots and lots of places to yak on both sides. My favorite paddles on the bayside are Parkers Marsh or going over to Tobacco Island. Not unusual to find an arrowhead at low tide if you walk the small beaches. On seaside you have to be aware of the tide, the current around the inlet and you'll...

Photos - Your Chariot - Your Ride

^^ Thanks Scupper. I've done the transom test with the motor and there is no flex so I was happy about that. There are also no cracks on the deck seam or sides of the the transom. I do have a thin small crack running across the forward deck but there is no bounce in the deck even when I...

Photos - Your Chariot - Your Ride

Went to the boat show last night since I'm in the market for a new motor. Crazy prices for new boats sure glad I own one already. Spoke with Bill from Alberston Marine who is going to inspect the transom and stringers (poke a moisture meter here and there) to make sure my ride is ready to...

    Albies in the Sound

Like Rick I use the Hogy epoxy jigs primarily. I also found a similar jig called spanish candy which was half the price of a Hogy.

    How do you kayak ?

It can be frustrating they are real finicky at times. And then try chasing them in a kayak almost impossible. My strategy is when I'm in an area where they have showed I'll wait for them to reappear rather than chase them.

The Onancock Chronicles the Eastern shore

There were a couple of lots available but we were just leery of the shores famous skeeters with the nearby marsh and also the low elevation. No regrets I'm looking forward to my little piece of woods.

Make sure they put an access cap at the bottom of the outside chimney for easy cleaning.

That's a hearth pad that you can put right on a wood floor. I have heat shields on the bottom of the stove as well as the back plus the heat deflector behind the stove. That heat deflector is great and one of the best stove accessories I've bought it keeps the wall behind it from getting too...

    Firewood

The modular home models we're interested in all had fireplaces in the family room so instead of an open fireplace I'll do an insert with a large glass window in the door. I went to the hearthstone forum and the consensus there was the insert is better for general heating of a home. That said...

I think initially your right they will warm the room they are in quicker but for overall heating of a home I believe an insert is best (could be wrong). I'm burning wood and oil today.

The Onancock Chronicles the Eastern shore

We looked at Wise's Point was very tempting. I used to do the Triathlon at Crystal Beach that Mike Murphy held in the early 2000's. That was a fun race and good party.

The Onancock Chronicles the Eastern shore

It is weird how the hurricanes go north or south of the Eastern Shore. No complaints it can stay that way.
