Our understanding of the Winter Flounder collapse from the 1980’s I think is substantially different today from that what we believed almost 50 years ago. In particular as it relates to Long Island, and the residential development of the south shore. Between the barrier islands, and the...
Agreed, but let’s remember who is putting together the numbers. It’s very highly educated people, many with PhD’s in various marine related areas. Very often working in under paid government jobs. They are dedicated professionals, and they collaborate with many of our other top universities...
Lots of cool information here. Several members of the Freeport Tuna Club have records. We are also a registered fishing club with the association.

Good morning BroardBill. Sorry for the delay in responding but I‘be, been busy trying to tie up a lot of lose ends before heading to California next week and Florida after that for the winter season.
I started to answer you yesterday, before your editing. Here is what you said prior to that...
We built a solar energy farm in Anguilla to help offset the high energy costs. I seem to recall in meetings with the engineers involved with the project discussing, and or using the term “Fresnel lens.” I do not recall if they were ever used??
Hurricane Irma, a CAT 5 hit Anguilla in 2017...
Story sounds a little fishy to me……
10 minutes?
“The fish ran fast and took about 800 yards of line”

I do not have any knowledge as to the effect of the deeper water winter trawl that takes place. I have to ASS-ume that, right or wrong, the science indicates that given the allotment the commercial fishermen have been given the fishery would remain healthy and not categorized as “overfished”...

Without regulations many species would most likely be extinct, and many near extinction. Not saying the regulations are correct but this is an evolving science.
