Using Bunker or other live bait of similar size for Stripe Bass I like 10/0 Owner Circle Hooks. Very good hookup ratio. Look at the size of a Striper’s mouth. They open quite large. I also like using monofilament line for this type of fishing. No braid. Shoulder the rod with enough drag to...

    The History of Cod

Thanks, I just ordered Mark Kurlansjy’s, COD. Looking forward to reading it. The fur trade helped reshape the country also. Although not quite as profoundly as the Cod trade, it was still enormous in its own right. I recently read, Astor: The Rise and Fall of an American Fortune, by Anderson...

    The History of Cod

This wood carving of a Codfish is known as the “Scared Cod”. It has been hanging the Massachusetts State House in Boston since 1784. There were 2 previous ones. One was lost to fire, and another one was lost during the Revolutionary War.

    Jets

So I was in an ESPN Survivor Pool. Chump change with a $50 entry fee. Prior to Sunday’s week 7 kickoffs there were 4 of us left, one of which was myself. I took the Jets, which I hate doing. I thought they could beat the 0-5 Dolphins at home. Well, we know how that game turned out. 😩 As...
