So most of yesterday the forecast for the ocean was ESE 10-15 with 3’ seas. Hmmmmm. Saw the report from Lep, captmike28, and George and knew that meant trouble and would prolly be worse. Woke up this morning And forecast lowered to 5-10. OK we can handle that. Me and my son headed out about 10am and after heading out the inlet found it every bit accurate for yesterday’s forecast for today and not what they said this morning.
At sea bouy we stopped to decide keep chugging to reef or head back to bay. WTF let’s keep going. Got to reef and couldn’t land a fluke for nothing. We had non stop action on porgies and sea bass but keeper sea bass was a challenge compared to the 1st 2 weeks of the season. Combination of 3’ swell and 10-15 ESE made it difficult to hold bottom with heavy weights After getting knocked around for awhile we packed it in happy enough to have the nice mix of sea bass and porgies that we put together in the box
A day I’m sure my son won’t forget anytime soon?
