but the real thrill wasn't another 22" fluke on my last of three snapper after 3 hours without a bite on them. I was drifting and fishing among what I think were dolphins or porpoises, something that I have never done before, on my old boats or the kayak. There were at least four of these "predators" hunting in a pack and usually completely next to each other. Peanuts were scattered all over. The attached photos do no do the excitement (yes, even at 73 I still get excited about wildlife) justice. Can anyone verify from these admittedly lousy photos what I saw?

Two paddleboarders saw them as well but had no idea what they were.

They are indeed dolphin, was fishing amityville channel a week ago and there were 6 of them feeding in there. Definitely exciting to see. We were about 200 yds east of the second Wantagh.

That last pic sure looks like a shark dorsal.
Which was initially my first thought when it / they were 50 yds off. But the synchronized movements in decimating the peanuts said “mammal brain!” When they were within 6 feet (no pix) there was little doubt besides dolphins or porpoises. I am probably lucky they didn’t flip me.
