Well-Known Angler
So I hauled the boat for the season on sunday morning before the big blow later in the day.
With the falling temps I figured I might as well run some antifreeze thru the pumps and lines.
First up is the livewell and washdown pump. I disconnect the intake filter and attach a hose into a gallon of antifreeze. Put the switch to livewell first. Hit the dashboard switch and it hesitates before kicking on. Hmmm, that's a bit odd. Enough pink anti freeze comes through the lines to make me happy so I turn switch off. Go to transom and switch the lever to washdown. Back to dashboard switch, Nada. Go back to pump ground wire comes apart where there's an in line butt connector. Cut it out and wrap wires together just so i can finish the job. No dice. look closer at everything and pump looks like hell and rusted out all over. I'm thinking last time i swapped out pump has to be close to 10 years ago so not a big deal and I guess I'm glad it didn't happen when had a livewell full of bait I'm trying to keep alive but really, it has to happen at the exact time I'm trying to winterize the pumps?

Oh well, when life looks like easy street there's danger at the door....

C'mon @Chinacat, rare is the day where EVERYTHING on the boat works.

lol, yesterday while power washing my boat, my 17yr old power washer thru a rod, I heard loud clacking noise and then bang, all she wrote, when I bought it, I paid a little over a 100$, now, their 280$ on up.
I just ordered one from Home Depot, should have it next week.
It's not just boats ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
