Every once in a while a little voice has me ignore the local bass fishing & make the run to Montauk. Yesterday weather, wind & tide all sounded good so decided to make the run, all was good till I neared the lighthouse, south & east was socked in with dense fog. The last couple of days I have been having trouble with the radar & now it decided not to work. Picked my way to the grounds, fish on the screen, & soon a bass of about 20lbs weas released boat side. The fog gets thicker & shadows are trolling close off the bow, it's time to go, unfortunately, one drift & done for me, the fog has made it's way north, & was out of it at the north bar area. Took a slow, clear ride back to Orient with the intention of making a few drifts in Plum Gut, but by the time I got to the Gut, decided to just call it a day.
