Boat Show Javits Center

Just got back. Saw some amazing boats. Didn’t even know they made 425hp outboards. Saw a Whaler with 4 on the back pretty insane. The one in the pic ONLY shad 4 325s.

Also, took the plunge and signed up for a class to get my captains license. Been working deck for 20 years come this summer. It is long overdue.

Has anyone else gone or is planning on going?

Who did you sign up with? I did it about 20 years ago, before there was such a thing as "online" courses.
Captain Bill. Nautical School. He is actually going to be running the Klondike in New Rochelle. I’m taking the class at the municipal marina over there in Feb. We know a lot of the same people in the industry.

Good luck with it. It was a cakewalk for me and all of the people, save one, that I took the classes with.

4 x 425 HP??? That is such a blatant case of "I can't figure out how to waste my money"!! What really irks me is that a Googan that sees that automatically assumes it'll go 4X faster than a single 425   .

I never begrudge anyone who runs out to the Canyon dual outboards for the safety of redundancy. After two, additional motors are just badge of conspicuous consumption with absolutely no merits except proclaiming to the world, "Mine is bigger!!" That being said, it sets one wondering just what deficit is the owner trying to compensate for...
