Fluke Whisperer
Angler
Fished for fluke yesterday with my younger son, fished from 8:30 am to 7pm.
Arrived at Can 7 caught the last of the outgoing tide, immediately hooked up with a 17 /1/2 in fish, for the rest to the outgoing tide, my son and I caught 3 more shorts to 18 1/2 in.
The wind died down with the tide change and no more drift, we slowly worked our way over to Port Jeff, to find at least 25 to 30 boats outside of PJ harbor, with no drift it was tough going.
We managed a few more shorts, of which one that my son caught about a 8 or 9 in, was taken by an estimated 40 lb bass, that was an incredible sight and the first time I ever saw a bass take a live fluke, it was a short lived fight, the 15lb leader parted, but we were excited for a few minutes. lol
The ride in was so nice I feel asleep in my chair only to be awakened when the motor stopped suddenly, I was like now what, my son saw a seal swimming and stooped to look at it.
Damn near gave me a heart attack, lol.
I am burnt to a crisp other wise I would be fishing instead of posting.
Tight Lines,
Jay
