As we dive into November, the yellowfin tuna action in the canyons is nothing short of a full-blown battle. The Voyager party boat has had a stellar run, reporting a full boat limit of yellowfin tuna on each of its last three trips. On Monday, the tuna were in a frenzy, with the crew landing an impressive 100 tuna in just 2 1/2 hours. Longfin tuna are also making an appearance, with at least a few caught on each outing, adding variety to the catch. The boat even managed to land one swordfish.
Skipper Howard Bogan Jr. of the Jamaica reports that there’s good water moving into the canyon, which should keep the tuna hanging around. The Jamaica’s latest trip, running from Sunday into Monday, saw continued strong action.
