# Captain Tony's Complete NYC Harbor Report - November 4, 2025

Captain Tony here, with the word on the water in and around the city. This past week was a wet one, thanks to that storm, but if you were brave enough to get out there, you were rewarded. The fishing in the harbor is heating up, and it’s only going to get better.

## East River Bass Blitz

The big news this week was the bass bite in the East River. During the storm, with the barometer dropping, the stripers went on a feeding frenzy. I’m talking about big fish, with reports of bass up to 48 inches being caught. That’s a real slob of a fish, and it just goes to show you that sometimes you’ve got to fish in the rain to catch the big ones.

## Bunker and Big Bass

Down by Breezy Point, the bunker schools are thick, and the big bass are on them. We’re talking about some real XXL-sized fish. If you can get a live bunker in front of these fish, you’ve got a good shot at hooking into a fish of a lifetime. It’s not easy fishing, but the reward is worth the effort.

## Harbor Outlook

With the full moon coming up, the tides are going to be ripping, and that should get the bait and the bass moving all over the harbor. From the Battery up to Haverstraw, there should be plenty of opportunities to get into some good fish. It’s a great time to be an urban angler. So get out there, be safe, and catch ‘em up. This is Captain Tony, over and out.
