Captree - King Cod

Fished the opening day full day trip on the King Cod. Fish were caught on every drift with a good bunch being keepers. The conditions were not bad with the wind. My buddy had the pool fish and a little after noon I had a substantial weight on the line. Initial thoughts were a horseshoe crab but a few cranks later the fish started to lethargically shake its head. Immediately called for the net and was rewarded with the pool winner/Season Pass/and $$$$. Great way to start the season for me.

Very nice!! I was a little worried being on South shore with the wind. I stayed in the Sound. But still pretty windy up there.
