Fished the Dead Sea yesterday

Fished the Dead Sea yesterday ( Jones Inlet area) from 9AM-1PM , incoming tide ,gentle wind from west, not a single bite. No sea robins, nothing. Looked all around and nobody was catching anything. Saw one small bluefish caught on East Side of Meadowbrook. I fished the east side of the Wantagh Bridges, the East side of the Meadowbrook, Jones Inlet. I also floated a sardine past Short Beach for bluefish because no fluke , nothing. I tried fishing shallow water thinking the water is too cold, nothing there either. I read reports and fishing shops said the water was too cold. It's almost the second week of June, other years there were plenty of fluke caught in early May. Something ain't right with Fluke this year, I only caught 1 short fluke the whole season, like 4 trips. Tell tale sign -no party boats in the bay fluking. I go out to Fire Island, Captree, drive over the Robert Moses Bridge almost every week, looks the same out there, no party boats in sight , very few boats drifting the area. Wish I went to Peconic like I planned. Peconic trips by yourself is a lot of work, planning , 75 miles each way with a giant boat to tow.

Sheesh, you guys have me feeling guilty when I moan and piss about working hard to catch 3 or 4 stripers in 2 hours.

If it is of any consolation, friend out of Mattituck has been doing very poorly in both the Sound and Peconic. Seems that LI fishing has been very spotty as of late. Hang in there, it will turn...
