Fluke in Smithtown Bay

I went out for a few hours yesterday and kept a limit of a 19, 20 and 21 inchers. I totaled about a dozen fish with all either being keepers or just under. I saw a few head boats fishing between Sunken Meadow and Calahans. I stayed away from there and worked the edges on the Short Beach drops. There was only one other biat there.

I used 1 oz bucktails with gulp and fresh squid I bought at the supermarket.

My buddies were probably the other boat you saw they also had a limit. Unfortunately I had to work. Nice job glad you got on them

Hearing there is a lot of sand eels up there
Even the head boats from PJ are reporting a good fluke season so far.

Last week every time we would drift over a area with sand eels we would hook up almost instantly

They were choking up small sand eels. I sure hope they stay around a while.
