I was not sure what the day would look like but once the wife woke she had some stuff she wanted to take care of at home so I went down to the boat for a quick outing. Started slow but the bite went savage so actually put one rod down and concentrated on finding a better fish. Duration was short but put a 24 and 19 inch fish on the ice out of 30 fish landed. Wanted to stay for the turn but my daughter was coming over for dinner so no go today. Not sure what tomorrow brings.

Caught a fraction of that off the yak but had nonstop action as well Sunday. It was as if the fish knew the heat wave was over !
Amazing how sensitive the fish are to weather changes. I was up on Lake George with my father in 2008 , we went out for Northern Pike in the North End of the Lake. We pulled up to a weedy cove and caught many Northern Pike on tiny Mepps Spinners. We caught 12-15 Pike and if it wasn't nearly 100 degrees out there and cooler, we might have caught 30 more Northern Pike the way they were biting. After about an hour my father couldn't stand the heat anymore and demanded to go home . We went home . That night a big cool front moved in and we sat in tents at Rogers Rock State Park during a violent thunderstorm. Next day we got up and raced across the lake to the spot where we clobbered the Pike the day before hoping for the same fishing. We fished for 2 hours without a bite !!! Crazy!
