Had the Piscatorial Equivalent of Seeing A Yeti Today, 3 Times No Less!!

Was digging clams today in a foot of water w/a strong current. While digging, the peripheral vision system sounded an alarm, "WARNING - Mud Cloud moving UPCURRENT!!!" Central Vision immediately took over, and the "cloud" that was moving upriver was in fact, an ~8", not corrected for water magnification, WINTER FLOUNDER!!!! That happened early in the dig, and as time progressed I saw an additional 2 flounder, ~4 & 6"!!.

Now up to this point I've only been able to verify seeing two winter flounder in my river, one was 12" fish proudly displayed to me and a fishing companion by a victorious osprey, and a 1" fry that was dried out on my boat. I may have had another sighting, but it wasn't verified, as I noticed a puff of mud while kayaking over a mudflat with ~ 1 ft of water over it. Besides these river fish, I've caught some cod with small flounders in their guts, so they DO EXIST!!

Up to now, everytime I try fishing for them I come up with only green crabs or mackerel, but I think today's encounter will help me target them in better areas.

Oh, I also found a nice plug, besides a mess 'o tasty clams, and even though I wasn't trying to target them, I stumbled over a few oysters too!!
