Hello my name is Natalie and I spend more time outdoors than I do inside. Every day is earth day when you live close to the plants and creatures that keep you alive, syncing heartbeats, rhythms and song. You might say I'm more comfortable surrounded by animals, dirt running through my veins, the stray spider in my tangled curls, occasionally barefoot, unless I'm picking nettles or chasing a stray pig or calf. Some have called me a gnome, which I staunchly refuse to confirm or deny. What can I say, some secrets are better left hidden. However, I am the kind of woman you will find sitting outside, under her favorite tree, reading and sipping her coffee, reluctant to go indoors, unless it is in search of a bite to eat or another book.

It is springtime and everything is amplified, but most especially my proclivity to live outdoors by a body that is gripped by something quite outside of herself. The sun has returned and once again harnessed me to her. With the longer days, comes the work, demanding, yet welcome. The cool evenings are relentless while the tomatoes wait patiently to go in the ground. It is only ever I who am the impatient one. Impatient for that first sweet strawberry, impatient to plant and sow, impatient for the sun to go down, so finally I can collapse in a dusty, pollen filled heap. Only to sleep the night away, before rising the next morning and doing it all over again

Each day is filled with planting and seeding, tending and hoeing, bending and twisting, until my body demands that I slow down and try to consider a back that is only getting older. Oh, but I have miles to go before I sleep! And that old familiar ache, that tiredness that grips, what a reminder. To be fully alive and human, to feel it all, to run and never catch up. I am, I am, I am!

found two Horseshoe Crabs asking for help to rid of those hard shell hitchhikers… all cleaned up and wished em farewell…

found an IKEA bag and yellow safety strap that needed to be removed from beach ?… sadly, at least another hundred pounds of trash remains…

great day for a beach walk on earth ? day… cellfish…

I was always cautions of those tails, always thought tails were for defense… but I just realized, those stinger looking tails are for balance and righting the crab, especially needed at shoreline… cellfish…
