A steel, or even a trick aluminum handle nut wrench will cut through the anodizing, leaving the unsightly silver aluminum to show where you've screwed up. Nut replacement therapy (nice touch, no?
) is the only remedy for such damage. Believe me I know from this. Even putting a piece of Saran plastic wrap over the nut will not save it from the damage a metal wrench will eventually cause.
So what's the solution? Well, it just became available on AliExpress - and well worth the modest ask too. Take a look at the first substantial non-marring carbon-fiber wrench that's inexpensive enough to include in the average reel tool kit.
