Hunter Harassment – Suffolk County
On November 30, ECOs Berketis and Ruffle responded to a call from Suffolk County Police about two waterfowl hunters being harassed at a DEC property in the Town of Brookhaven. ECOs arrived at the location, met with Suffolk County Police, conducted a waterfowl hunting compliance check on the hunters, and observed no violations. The hunters also showed ECOs a video of the individual in question yelling at them and throwing their decoys. While interviewing the hunters, the individual in the video returned to the location and began yelling about his displeasure with hunting. ECOs issued two tickets to the subject for interfering with the lawful taking of fish or game and failure to obey a DEC sign, both returnable to Suffolk County First District Court.
It is illegal to interfere with the lawful taking of fish or game in New York State.

More than anything it's to protect those protestors from being shot.
The only anti hunting reactions most of us will experience are when we come home with a deer on the back of our cars. One time I was coming home from an Upstate hunt, I think it was the first deer my family ever shot . We were someplace in Westchester driving home with a deer slung over the old 1973 LTD roof . A woman passed by in her car and just burst out crying. Crazy how people can burst out crying like that.
Saw a few middle fingers as well.
I think people have seen a gazillion dead deer on the roads and they aren't emotional about deer that much. Most people.

Most people would rather eat something that was force fed or injected with steroids, antibiotics, growth hormones and "unnatural fattening food" that was killed with a bolt gun after being herded down a claustrophobic tunnel.
