So "Shotgun Joe" wants "common sense" gun laws enacted. While I can see the "sense" in requiring more in the way of background checks (although after decades of being involved in national security background investigations I know how limited NICS actually is) will we have nationwide restrictions such as Newyorkistan has had since what, 2013 with its "unSAFE Act" ? I legally avoided registering my AR with a simple, mainly cosmetic fix, (while my pistols are all known to Princess Andie's minions) will law-abiding peeps be required to do even more ? thoughts ?

I see these laws as only hurting the law abiding citizen. Now I see he wants to add more tax on magazines and ammo? Something along those lines.

All laws only impact the law abiding. Criminals and the mentally deficient do not recognize laws. Fortunately, before I got more involved in deer hunting a decade ago (when I fully retired) I had stocked up thinking I would be target shooting much more than I actually do. I sold off all my "standard capacity" mags just before the unSAFE Act took effect, as well as some semi-auto rifles, bought ten round mags, and remain law abiding, and thus I am still subjected to even more useless future laws and regulations that only adversely impact the law abiding. A good example is the micro-stamping bill again in Albany, that is easily circumvented as well as unproven. TV shows make it seem like the authorities can identify a perp from an expended shell or even better, a deformed bullet that went through bone and cartilage and embedded itself in a cinder block. It will be interesting if Shotgun Joe attempts to or actually enacts federal laws that will turn semi auto sporting rifles into illegal weapons of war in states like Tennessee and Arizona. (Texas is all but "lost", as is Virginia.)

My thoughts, move to Maine !! Strap on yer weapon go where you like, provided your not a felon. (no state, federal buildings) . of course who wants to go there anyway. Sales tax is 5.5%, plenty of land in the boonies. JMO !! :giggle:

shorts and sandals April through October ? I got away unarmed in every shit city housing project the Rotten Apple had to offer from 1984 through 2011 so carrying is not a pre-requisite. and Shotgun Joe's decrees might impact EVERY state.

What in God's name do you wear in a kayak ? Please Find Attached ?
Person From Away, which is anyone who isn't at least a third generation Maineah, yes, I'm a PFA.

Bare feet or short boat boots November - April. Crocs don't sell well in Maine, you won't find them in the local hardware or general store, but you WILL find ammo.
