I don't have any particular ones in mind i plan on just catching what i can. What species are you targeting?
So it sounds like you made the purchase based on price rather than species sought.I don't have any particular ones in mind i plan on just catching what i can.
A rod that big should have at least a Penn 6/0. Buy all your reels used on Ebay, you'll save a bundle. I purchased a Fiblink 30-50 pound class trolling rod with roller guides and purchased a used 4/0 Penn Senator ( almost like new) and the rod and reel Combo cost me about $80 total. A Fiblink 30-50 class rod and a 4/0 Senator is all you really need out there for most everything that swims out there. Anything larger and you lose action. I currently see a Fiblink 30-50 class rod on Amazon like new for $46.This is the link to amazon for the rod that I own.
Which reel do I need to purchase that will fit into this rod snuggly and is the appropriate size?
