Joys of home ownership. Advice on DIY tasks around the house

My house has 2.5 bathrooms in it. The shower in the downstairs bathroom wont get hot, warm but not hot. Every other faucet in the house, the hot water gets hot. THe shower is a delta shower with a mixer valve not 2 separate hot cold valves. Should there be some filter in the mixer valve that can be replaced or will the whole valve need to be replaced. The bathroom was redone recently before I purchased the house, guessing about 10 yrs old by now. I would rather not open up the wall to replace the valve but if I have to I guess I have to. Any suggestions

My Grohe has a temp control mixer valve that you have to calibrate by actually standing there in the shower, with a thermometer. To make matters worse it doesn't like giving you a shower over 100 °F so I set the temps for 10 °F "lower" than the actually are. I've already had to replace the temp mixer since it works by springs and it got gunked up.

Get a hold of a manual for that mixer and see if you can adjust that. I can adjust mine with no wall problems.

No it appears that there is a slight drop in pressure from full cold to full hot.
Sounds to be two separate issues.
The single/mixed hot/cold shower bodies have anti scalding thiga majiggies built into them so you need to figure out how to adjust it to the highest setting which even that will never be roasting hot

I'm not a plumber but I believe the hot water passing thru your water heater, boiler, or whatever will always have a little less pressure than cold which doesn't have to pass thru that and it less obstructed
