On the way out as I neared the first channel marker I spotted what I thought was a muskrat swimming perpendicular to my "course", but then I saw the ears ! Tried to herd him back to a beach as he was trying to climb the bulkheading but it kept swimming away. At first I took a photo or two but then realized, duh, that I had a net. Paddled him back to the kayak ramp area and lifted him out into 2 inch deep water. Shaking, exhausted (the rabbit, not me yet) he just loped a couple of yards up the beach. Well, to save this thread for a fishing report, I managed only 3 fluke, on chartuese gulp and bucktail, from 15" to 17", both sides of the low, some eel grass, hot and humid, easterly light winds.
