With the influx of artificial baits and baits like Gulp and Fish Bites and other biodegradable baits are we creating more trash? I guess i'm old school. i always prefer live bait or dead fresh bait. Fluking i like a fresh meat strip of sea robin or mackeral, live kilies or snappers, whlole peanut to med size bunker. Striped bass i love anything live swimming on the hook end. Porgy, kingfish, shad, bunker, spot, lizardfish, bergals.

Not sure it's trash if its biodegradable but I see your point. I never felt bad fileting a sea robin to strip for fluke bait because the rack becomes food for crabs. However I don't believe all soft baits fair well traveling through the digestive track of a fish. If your talking trash My peeve isn't bait its the trash left behind by many shore fisherman that ends up in our waters after tides, wind or runoff remove it from the shoreline. Just saying.

In some cases I guess that might be true, but the same can be said for bait fishing. As Loonzter - great username by the way - mentioned, we all need to do what we can to limit our imprint on the sea and beaches.
