I'm on it Mike. Right now there's zippo information besides the fact that it's "near Acadia National Park", but when time allows I'll hit Google Earth to try and triangulate.

Heck Free Hotel with a tour, might as well come on up for a mini-vacation?

I'm pretty sure I found it Mike. If I'm reading my satellite shots correctly, it's "Point Francis" in Gouldsboro, ME. If you ask Google Earth to find that, it shows this photo which pretty much matches the photo on the website, including the proper place for Cadillac Mountain at Acadia in the background...

Now in the Maine spirit of "You can't get there from here," a lecture on what "Close To" often means is these parts. With all the peninsulas cut out by the glaciers a 5 mile distance as "the gull flies" can translate to a long, circuitous trip up one peninsula and down another. Here's the low-down on traveling from Point Francis to "nearby" Bar Harbor, a 1 hr, 45 mile trip!!

Sorry Mike, internet knocked out most of the day from the storm and just got it back. My Google Earth guess was correct and I sent you a PM answering some other questions. Let me know if you need anything else.

Yep that's the point alright Mike. Good find Dom. It's a beautiful place I like it. As long as you don't need a job or want to get to town to often. :)

Hey guys , my daughter is going up to Auburn next week, are you familiar with this area?

Kinda, sorta. It's called the L/A area, the twin cities of Lewiston/Auburn. I try to avoid Lewiston like the plague, not a nice place, but Auburn is "wicked" nicer. I have to drive through Lewiston to get to Auburn, your daughter will probably be driving up I-95 so she gets right into Auburn.

Tell her NOT to take I-95 through CT if she's coming from the LI, or from anywhere south for that matter unless she's traveling at 03:00. I'd strongly recommend going up on I-684/84 through Danbury, CT. If she's not on LI, I'd cross the Hudson over Fredo's Father's Bridge. She should stay on I-84 until it ends on the Mass Pike (I-90) in Sturbridge. Then take I-90 to where it crosses I-495, getting on I-495 North until it ends on I-95 North just short of the NH border. When she gets to Maine on I-95 tell her not to get excited, she's got another 2 hrs to Auburn.

My daughter and her boyfriend made it up no problem. As soon as they arrived they had to help load up a Modle T to move to a new storage location. I’m guessing the other cars have to be relocated as well.

can you say BARN FIND ??
